Biography

Jason Ortitay is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 46th district in portions of Allegheny and Washington counties, including Cecil, Chartiers, Mount Pleasant, and North Strabane townships, and boroughs such as Canonsburg, Houston, McDonald, South Fayette township, and Oakdale. Born on March 14, 1983 , in Wheeling, West Virginia, he resides in Cecil Township with his wife Amanda and daughters Delaney and Isabella. Ortitay assumed office on December 1, 2014, and has been reelected through at least 2024. He is president and owner of Jason’s Cheesecake Company, founded in 2012 to support local schools and nonprofits, and previously worked in banking. Notable achievements include leading opposition to Governor Tom Wolf’s bridge tolling plan, advancing school safety and mental health grants, creating a K-12 online course catalog, and implementing a structured literacy program. He serves as Republican Chair of the House Communications and Technology Committee, chairs subcommittees on Special Education , Parks and Forests , Highways , and Government Operations , and has held roles like Deputy Whip , member of the Basic Education Funding Commission , and the School Safety and Security Committee .
