Biography
Jason Gearhart is a Republican State Representative for Iowa House District 64, which includes all of Allamakee County, Clayton County, and Concord Township in Dubuque County. Born and raised in northeast Iowa as the son of a fourth-generation farmer, he resides in Strawberry Point with his wife Kayela, a fourth-grade teacher at Starmont Elementary School, and their two children, Jayden and Kendyl, students at Starmont Middle School. Gearhart works as an environment specialist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and emphasizes fiscal responsibility, support for farmers, taxpayer protection, and strengthening rural education. Notable achievements include his U.S. Army service from 2004 to 2009 as a military police officer and investigator at Camp Page and Camp Casey in South Korea, and Fort Belvoir, Virginia; service on the Strawberry Point City Council and Starmont School Board; past role on the Strawberry Point Chamber of Commerce; and event coordination for the town's Strawberry Days festival in 2022 and 2023. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.
