Biography
Jason Fernando Esteves is an American attorney, businessman, and politician. A Democrat, he represented Georgia's 35th Senate District from January 2023 until his resignation on September 10, 2025, to focus on his campaign for governor. Notable achievements include serving as an at-large representative and Board Chair of the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education from 2013, and being elected vice chair of finance for the Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus in 2024. He proposed legislation in 2025 to prevent private equity firms from purchasing houses and received an endorsement for his gubernatorial bid from Humberto Garcia-Sjogrim, a co-founder of the movement against Buckhead cityhood.
