Biography
Jason Buchsbaum, a Republican, was elected in November 2024 to represent Connecticut's 69th House District, encompassing Bridgewater, Roxbury, a portion of New Milford, and the majority of Southbury. He was sworn into office on January 8, 2025. Prior to his election to the state legislature, Buchsbaum served five terms on the Southbury Board of Selectmen, where he held the position of Chairman Pro Tempore. His tenure on the board was marked by a commitment to fiscal responsibility, support for education, and enhancement of local emergency services. Notably, he played a key role in Southbury's transition to an independent police force, aiming to improve public safety within the community.
