Biography
Senator Jason Bean ** represents **Missouri Senate District 25, covering the Bootheel and southeast Missouri counties of Butler, Carter, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Pemiscot, Ripley, Stoddard, and Wayne. A fifth-generation Missourian raised in the Bootheel, he lives on the family farm where he grew up and operates a successful agribusiness. He was first elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Married to Desiree, Bean is recognized for advancing Missouri agriculture globally, including service on the United Soybean Board for soybean export missions, and work with the USA Rice Producers Board and National Cotton Council. Notable achievements include the 2015 Missouri Governor’s Award for Agricultural Achievement, the 2019 Southern Cotton Ginners Agricultural Achievement Award, interim superintendency at the University of Missouri’s Fisher Delta Research Center, and appointment as a Missouri Agriculture and Small Business Development Authority Commissioner in 2016.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended the University of Missouri – Columbia, majoring in agronomy and minoring in animal science.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Missouri Senate in 2020 ; re-elected in 2024. Previously chaired the Advisory Board of MU’s Fisher Delta Research Center and served as a Missouri Farm Bureau member.
