Biography
Jason Barrett is a Republican member of the West Virginia State Senate representing District 16 . Born on July 16, 1982, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he is a lifelong resident of Berkeley County, where he lives with his wife Summer, son Berkeley, daughter Vandalia, and dog Winnie. A small business owner, Barrett owns multiple establishments in the Eastern Panhandle, including Anthony’s Pizza in Inwood, Tudor’s Biscuit World in Inwood, and Goin’ Postal in Martinsburg. Notable achievements include serving as Senate Finance Chairman and championing issues like Second Amendment preservation, tax reductions, state spending control, foster care funding, and tourism projects such as the Hilltop House Hotel in Harpers Ferry. He sponsored 13 bills in 2026, including SJR 11 on homestead exemption increases. He also serves on committees for Economic Development, Government Organization, Banking and Insurance, and Pensions, and is involved in community service as a board member of the Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center and Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport Authority.
