Biography
Representative Jarvis Caldwell
Jarvis Caldwell is a Republican representing Colorado House District 20, which encompasses communities in El Paso County including the Air Force Academy, Black Forest, Gleneagle, Monument, and Woodmoor. He is 36 years old, married with two sons, and currently serves as Minority Leader of the Colorado House of Representatives.
Caldwell is an Air Force veteran who served for 10 years, beginning his military career shortly after high school. His service spanned multiple continents, including postings in England, Korea, Afghanistan, and Italy. He transitioned from an avionics technician—where he worked primarily on F-15 Strike Eagles and U-2 Reconnaissance aircraft—to the Air Force JAG Corps, where he studied law and worked on high-profile courts-martial cases in the Washington, D.C. area.
Political Experience
Caldwell was first elected to the Colorado House of Representatives on November 5, 2024, winning 60% of the vote in his district. He was subsequently elected Minority Leader, potentially making him the youngest Republican legislative leader in Colorado history.
Prior to his election to the state house, Caldwell built an extensive background in public service:
- Served as a Bonus Member on the Executive Committee for the El Paso County Republican Party
- Appointed as a Director on the board of directors for an SD20 charter school, where he became vice chair
- Worked as a legislative aide for former state representative and Assistant Minority Leader Tim Geitner
- Served as communications director for Republicans in the House of Representatives
