Biography

Jared Michel Mead is a Democratic politician serving as a member of the Snohomish County Council, representing the 4th district since 2020. He previously represented Washington's 44th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives from 2019 to 2021. Born and raised in Mill Creek in South Snohomish County, he attended Jackson High School and lives there with his wife Krystal and son Kallen. Notable achievements include sponsoring and passing the country's first recycled content mandate for bottle manufacturing while on the Environment & Energy committee, serving as Co-Chair of the Washington Under-40 Caucus, and advocating for bipartisan solutions on workforce development, transportation, public schools, and environmental issues.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated from the University of Washington Bothell in 2014 with a major in Global Studies and a minor in Business.
  • Early Career: Worked in the private sector as a licensed small business and investment banker; interned with Sen. Steve Hobbs in 2014 and later served as legislative aide for Sen. Guy Palumbo.
  • Local Service: Appointed to the Mill Creek Planning Commission in 2014, elected to the Mill Creek City Council, and won election to the Washington House in 2018 as the youngest state lawmaker at age 27 with 52% of the vote.
