Biography
Janice S. Dodge, known as "Jan," is a Democratic State Representative for Maine House District 39, representing the communities of Belfast, Belmont, and Northport in Waldo County. A retired music teacher with over 30 years of experience, she resides in Belfast and has served four sessions in the Maine House . Notable achievements include her consistent service on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee, reelection in 2022 following redistricting , and involvement in education advocacy through the Maine Education Association , including MEA-Retired and as President of Waldo County Retired Educators. She has also contributed to community efforts such as Waldo County Triad, Aging Well in Waldo County steering committee, and the Belfast Chamber of Commerce.

Education
Graduated from Belfast Area High School with High Honors. Earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree with Distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1979. Taught vocal and instrumental music K-12 in the former Flanders Bay Community School District for over 30 years.
