Biography
Jamie Thompson is a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 28th district since January 2023. Born on September 5, 1976, in Dearborn, Michigan, she serves residents in Brownstown Township, Flat Rock, Rockwood, Woodhaven, parts of Taylor in Wayne County, Berlin Township, Frenchtown Township, Newport, and South Rockwood in Monroe County. She was first elected in November 2022 and reelected in 2024, currently in her second term. Thompson is married to Ronald K. Matte II and has six children: Jordan, Jesse, Jackson, Bentley, Braxtyn, and Bryson. Notable achievements include advocating for tax reductions, opposing government overreach such as toxic waste dumping, protecting children in state care, and introducing legislation to improve state communication against Michigan's opioid crisis. She holds committee roles as Vice Chair of the House Health Policy Committee and serves on the House Energy, Families and Veterans, and Regulatory Reform Committees.
