Biography
Jamie Barton is a Republican representative for Pennsylvania's 124th Legislative District, covering parts of Berks and Schuylkill counties. He is serving his second term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, focusing on economic stimulation, small business support, energy cost reduction, infrastructure improvements, education investment, election integrity, and community safety.
A resident of East Brunswick Township, Barton has over 35 years in the energy industry as vice president of Jack Rich, Inc. He is actively involved in his community, serving as a lay pastor and Sunday school teacher at St. Johns UCC in Orwigsburg, where he has been president and consistory member. He also sits on the boards of the Big Impact Group of Schuylkill County and Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce, volunteers as an instructor at the Young Entrepreneur Academy, and is a past president and current board member of the Orwigsburg Lions Club. Notable achievements include the 2017 Citizen of the Year Award from the Orwigsburg Lions Club and the 2021 Businessman of the Year Award from the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce.
Barton is married to Brenda, with four children—Jack, Alee, Nick, and Joe—and two Bernese Mountain dogs, Baloo and Lola.
Education and Political Experience
Barton studied business at Penn State and graduated magna cum laude from Alvernia University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, earning the Community Service Award.
In the 2025-26 session, he serves on the House committees of Appropriations, Energy and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Operations. He maintains district offices in Tamaqua, Hamburg, and Harrisburg.
