Biography
James "Jim" P. Gray is a Republican state senator representing District 6 in the New Hampshire State Senate, which includes Alton, Farmington, Gilmanton, New Durham, Rochester, and Strafford. A Rochester resident, he is married to Joanne with 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Gray has a proven record of public service, including military service in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and nearly 30 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a Senior Engineering Manager for Industrial Operation with the Naval Sea Systems Command. Notable achievements include serving as President Pro Tempore of the New Hampshire State Senate , Chairman of the Election Law & Municipal Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee and Capital Budget Committee, and prior roles such as Chair of the Finance Committee and Public and Municipal Affairs Committee. His priority issues focus on keeping taxes low, cutting unnecessary spending, and reducing costs.
