Biography

James Rashad Coleman is a Democratic State Senator representing Senate District 33 in Colorado, encompassing parts of Denver County including neighborhoods like Park Hill and Green Valley Ranch, where he was born, raised, and currently resides. Elected to the Colorado Senate in November 2020 after serving two terms as the State Representative for House District 7, he was the youngest member of the Colorado General Assembly at the time of his first election in 2016. Coleman currently serves as Senate President , previously as President Pro Tempore , and holds key committee roles including Chair of the Senate State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, and memberships on Appropriations, Business, Labor, and Technology, and the Legislative Council.
