Biography
Jake Hunter Johnson is a Republican representing District 113 in the North Carolina House of Representatives since 2019. Born and raised on a farm in Saluda, North Carolina, he is a Christian and member of Silver Creek Baptist Church. He works as a real estate broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lifestyle Properties in Hendersonville. Previously a Polk County Commissioner starting at age 22 , where he served as Chairman and achieved milestones like record-low unemployment, top-ranked schools, employee pay raises, a new law enforcement facility, and hosting a major sporting event without tax increases. Notable state roles include Deputy Majority Whip , the youngest member of the NC General Assembly, Vice Chair of Appropriations and Commerce Committees, Chair of Subcommittee on Appropriations for Information Technology, and member of committees on Education K-12, Banking, Homeland Security, Wildlife Resources, and others. He enjoys hunting, fishing, family time, and outdoor activities with his dog Scout.
