Jake Fey is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing District 27, Position 2, since January 2013. Born in 1949 in Port Angeles, Washington, he has lived in Tacoma for over 30 years with his partner Janine, two children , and two grandchildren. A progressive, Fey previously served as a Tacoma City Councilmember and deputy mayor, director of the Washington State University Energy Program focusing on alternative energy and efficiency, and on boards including Sound Transit, Pierce Transit, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency , and Pierce County Public Health. Notable achievements include chairing the House Transportation Committee, leading the 2022 $17 billion Move Ahead Washington transportation package for transit and infrastructure, and sponsoring the 2019 Green Transportation bill for electric vehicles and clean fuels.

• Political Experience: Elected to Washington House in 2012; current roles include Chair of Transportation Committee, member of Environment & Energy Committee, Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee, and Joint Oregon-Washington Legislative Action Committee. Former committees: Environment, Technology & Economic Development, Economic Resilience of Maritime and Manufacturing Task Force. Extensive community service includes board president of Boys & Girls Club of South Puget Sound and Tacoma-Pierce County Big Brothers Big Sisters, and member of Tacoma Rotary 8 and Tacoma Public Utility Board.
