Biography
Jake Banta represents Pennsylvania's 4th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving parts of Erie County since 2023. Born around 1965 in Waterford, Pennsylvania, he is a politician and musician who enlisted in the U.S. Navy SEALs after graduating from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1983, later working in the oil and natural gas industry on his family's farm following an honorable discharge. In 2022, he won a competitive six-person Republican primary and defeated Democrat Chelsea Oliver in the general election after the retirement of incumbent Curt Sonney, securing re-election in 2024 with 67.54% of the vote. For the 2025-2026 session, he serves on the House committees for Game and Fisheries, Local Government, State Government, Tourism and Economic and Recreational Development, and Veterans’ Affairs and Emergency Preparedness.
