Biography

Jaime Foster is a Democratic state representative serving Connecticut's 57th District, which includes Ellington, East Windsor, and Vernon. She is currently in her third term, having first won election in 2020 by defeating Republican David Stavens, and holds leadership as House Chair of the Veterans' and Military Affairs Committee, while also serving on the Banking and Energy and Technology Committees. A public health researcher, registered dietitian, and the only scientist in the Connecticut legislature, she brings data-driven expertise to policy on agriculture, families, seniors, public safety, and healthcare. Notable achievements include successfully delivering on campaign promises as a freshman legislator for her agricultural community, small businesses, and constituents, and her prior community service on the Ellington Human Services Commission, Board of Education, and Connecticut’s Milk Promotion Board .
