Biography
Jaime M. Andrade Jr. is a Democratic State Representative for Illinois' 40th District, serving since 2013. Born on October 7, 1972, in Chicago and raised on the city's north side, he is a full-time legislator, married, and has two children. Notable achievements include creating the Cybersecurity, Data Analytics & IT standing committee, serving as Assistant House Majority Leader, Chairperson of the House Transportation: Vehicles & Safety Committee, and Vice Chairperson of the House Labor & Commerce Committee. He supports affordable child care, community safety, elected school boards, environmental protections , immigrant reform, a socially and fiscally responsible state budget, small business relief, and a $15 minimum wage. His legislative priorities focus on technology advancement, environmental protection, and community safety.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.S.B. in Accountancy from DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business; M.S.A.A. in Audit Advisory Services from DePaul University's Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Graduate of St. Andrew's Grade School and Gordon Tech High School.
- Political Experience: Elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2016, 2018, and 2020 as a Democrat for the 40th District, which includes parts of Chicago's north side. Has served continuously from August 2013 in the Illinois House of Representatives through the 104th General Assembly.
