Biography

Jacklyn Rusnock is a Democratic state representative for Pennsylvania's 126th Legislative District, which includes parts of Berks County such as Muhlenberg Township, portions of Reading, and surrounding areas like Exeter Township, Lower Alsace Township, and boroughs including Laureldale, Mount Penn, and St. Lawrence. Elected in November 2024, she defeated Republican James Oswald with 13,834 votes to 10,944, succeeding her ex-husband Mark Rozzi after he ran unsuccessfully for Auditor General. Born in October 1970 and residing in Muhlenberg Township, Rusnock is noted for her community leadership, including coaching girls' basketball and softball for the Muhlenberg Township Athletic Association and serving on the Muhlenberg school board. Her legislative priorities emphasize creating opportunities, collaboration, and addressing community needs with energy and empathy.

Education and Political Experience

Rusnock earned a degree in dental hygiene from West Virginia University. She worked as a dental hygienist before teaching dental sciences for nearly a decade at the Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center, where she mentored students in technical skills and patient care, and coached softball at Muhlenberg High School. Her political career began with her 2024 election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, endorsed by Rozzi, fulfilling her "dream" of serving in Harrisburg. As a freshman legislator, she focuses on public service, youth development, and district advocacy.
