Biography
Jacqueline "Jackie" T. Addison is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 45 in Baltimore City. A lifelong Baltimore native, she was elected in November 2022, winning the Democratic primary on July 19, 2022, with 25.3% of the vote while campaigning alongside State Senator Cory V. McCray and Caylin Young. Sworn in on January 11, 2023, she serves on the Environment and Transportation Committee, including its Housing & Real Property Subcommittee and previously the Natural Resources, Agriculture, & Open Space Subcommittee . Notable positions include member of the Greenspace Equity Advisory Board and board member of the Belair-Edison Youth Council and HARBEL Community Association. She is a dedicated advocate for early childhood education, community development, and equity, honoring her late brother Michael Lyle's legacy through public service.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and Sojourner Douglass College, studying early childhood education.
- Early Career: Licensed childcare provider and MSDE-approved trainer, collaborating with Baltimore City Council and the Mayor's Office of Neighborhoods/Department of Housing and Community Development.
- Political Experience: First elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2022; current memberships include the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee. Co-sponsor of bills like HB0707/CH0440 and HB0694 .
