Biography

Jack Rader Jr. is a Republican representing Pennsylvania's 176th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, covering parts of Monroe County including Chestnuthill, Eldred, Hamilton, Jackson, Polk, Ross, Tobyhanna, and Tunkannock townships. First elected in 2014, he assumed office on January 6, 2015, succeeding Mario M. Scavello, and is currently serving his sixth term. He announced his bid for reelection in 2026. Notable achievements include sponsoring five bills that became law, such as Act 101 of 2018 exempting low-density municipalities from leaf waste collection programs; securing millions in grants for local infrastructure and public safety; and voting for record education funding while advocating to control property taxes. His priorities focus on job creation, economic growth, and addressing school property taxes. In the 2025-26 session, he serves as Republican chair of the House Environmental and Natural Resources Protection Committee. Prior to elected office, he spent 28 years on the Jackson Township board of supervisors and held leadership roles in local organizations like the Pocono-Jackson Water Authority and Monroe County Township Officials’ Board. He managed and served as vice president of his family's Mountain Springs Resort in Reeders for over three decades. Jack lives in Reeders with his wife, Susan; they have four children and seven grandchildren.
