Jack Bergman (MI-1)

Biography

Jack Bergman is a Republican representing Michigan's 1st Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, which includes the entire Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. A retired Lieutenant General in the United States Marine Corps, he rose through the ranks guided by Midwestern values of hard work and excellence instilled by his parents. Bergman also enjoyed a 22-year career as a commercial airline pilot for Northwest Airlines and successfully owned and operated his own small business. He took the Oath of Office on January 3, 2025, and serves on the Committee on Armed Services, Committee on the Budget, and Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

Bergman's extensive military service as a three-star general in the Marine Corps forms the core of his professional background, complemented by his aviation and entrepreneurial experience.
