Biography
Jacinda Morigeau
Jacinda Morigeau is a Democratic state senator representing Senate District 46 in Montana, having been first elected in 2024. She is Bitterroot Salish and an enrolled citizen of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, hailing from Arlee, Montana. She is the oldest child of Malissa and the late Dane Morigeau and describes herself as a 100th generation Montanan.
In addition to her legislative duties, Morigeau operates a senior dog retirement home and serves as Vice-Chairperson on the Board of Directors at All Nations Health Center, where she is recognized as a dedicated advocate for Indigenous self-determination, education, and reciprocity.
Education
Morigeau holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Native American Studies from the University of Montana.
Political Experience
Elected to the Montana Senate in 2024 with 58% of the vote, defeating Republican Charles Headley, Morigeau's legislative priorities include reproductive rights and abortion access, property tax reform for Montana homeowners, removal of the sunset on Medicaid Expansion, public education, conservation efforts through collaboration with Tribal governments, and protection of the Montana Constitution. She also serves as a member of the Montana Women Vote advisory board and previously worked as Communications Manager at United Way of Missoula County.
