Biography
Senator Jabari Brisport is a Democrat and Working Families party member representing New York's 25th State Senate District, which includes neighborhoods such as Clinton Hill, Navy Yard, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ocean Hill, and parts of Fort Greene. A third-generation Caribbean-American and lifelong Brooklyn resident born in Bed-Stuy and raised in Prospect Heights, he is the son of an undocumented immigrant. As a proud socialist, union member, and former queer Black public school teacher, he advocates for working-class priorities like raising taxes on the rich, free universal healthcare, universal housing access, free universal child care, and canceling rent/mortgage arrears from the COVID-19 pandemic.
