Biography
Rozia "J.R." Henson Jr. is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 19th District, which covers parts of Fairfax and Prince William Counties. Born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, to a teenage mother and stepfather, he is the first openly gay Black man elected to the Virginia General Assembly, serving since January 2024 after winning in the 2023 election. His occupation is program management for the Department of Homeland Security as a federal contractor and small business owner offering consulting services. Notable roles include Commissioner on the Prince William County Historical Commission, liaison for Voter Protection for the Democratic Party of Virginia in Prince William County, and past service as a legislative aide to Senator Henry L. Marsh.

- Political Experience: Active in the Prince William County Democratic Committee post-graduation; ran in a 2020 special election for the former 2nd District after Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy's departure. Elected to the 19th District in 2023; endorsed Kamala Harris's 2024 presidential campaign.
