J.P. Coussan

Jean-Paul Philip Coussan, known as J.P. Coussan, is a Republican politician, lawyer, and small business owner from Lafayette, Louisiana, currently serving as Commissioner for District 2 of the Louisiana Public Service Commission . Born August 31, 1978, in Jefferson Parish and raised in Lafayette, he previously represented House District 45 , chaired the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee, and represented Senate District 23 as Vice Chairman of the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection, and International Affairs Committee.

J.P. Coussan is a partner at Andrus Boudreaux Complete Title, a Lafayette real estate law firm and title company, and co-founder of Cougar Construction, LLC, focusing on residential construction and rentals. He previously worked as an attorney at Ottinger Hebert, LLC, defending oil and gas clients. Married to Jennifer Joy Coussan, he has three children.
