Biography
J.J. Singh ** represents Virginia's **26th House District, covering part of Loudoun County. A son of Indian immigrants born in Fairfax, Virginia, he was raised in Northern Virginia and now lives in Ashburn with his wife, Jessica Lewis, and their two daughters. Singh is Sikh and of Indian ethnicity. His parents worked in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs after earning advanced degrees, instilling values of hard work and public service.
Notable achievements include service in the Peace Corps in Bolivia, roles as a senior U.S. Senate advisor, work at the White House Office of Management and Budget, and running a small business. He has served on the Loudoun County Economic Development Advisory Commission, as Treasurer of the Loudoun County Democratic Committee, on the board of the National Peace Corps Association, and on the board of Ascendus, a nonprofit aiding low- to moderate-income business owners. Elected to the Virginia House of Delegates on January 13, 2025, Singh advocates for codifying abortion access in Virginia's Constitution and addressing gun violence.
