Irene A. Gifford is a Republican state representative serving House District 28 in the Maine House of Representatives, representing communities in Penobscot County including Edinburg, Enfield, Howland, Lagrange, Lincoln, Mattamiscontis, Mattamiscontis Township, Maxfield, North Penobscot, Seboeis, and Winn. She resides in Lincoln and was first elected on November 8, 2022, assuming office on December 7, 2022. She is currently in her second term following the 2024 election. By profession, Gifford is a hairdresser with 46 years of experience in cosmetology, renting her own booth and working full-time.
