Biography

Ian Lovejoy

Ian Travis Lovejoy was born on January 3, 1982, in Charleston, West Virginia. A resident of Bristow, Virginia, he is a member of the Republican Party. Outside of his political service, Lovejoy works as an entrepreneur and is the founder and owner of Reliant Hiring Solutions, a recruitment organization.

Education

Lovejoy completed his secondary education at Sissonville High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Concord University in 2004. He subsequently obtained a graduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2006.

Political Experience

Lovejoy previously served as a City Councillor in Manassas, Virginia. He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates to represent District 22 in the 2023 election, defeating Democrat Travis Nembhard. He assumed office on January 10, 2024, succeeding Kathy Byron following redistricting.

During his tenure in the House of Delegates, Lovejoy served on the Communications, Technology and Innovation Committee and the Counties, Cities and Towns Committee during the 2025-2026 legislative session. He sought re-election in 2025 but was defeated by Democrat Elizabeth Guzmán in the general election held on November 4, 2025. He left office on January 14, 2026, and was succeeded by Guzmán. Prior to the 2023 election cycle, reports indicated Lovejoy pursued the House of Delegates seat rather than a seat in the Virginia State Senate.
