Biography
Holly Seibold is a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing District 12 since 2024, previously District 35 . Born in New London, Connecticut, she is married to Erik Hooper Seibold, a software engineer, and they have two children, Morgan and Matthew; the family has lived in Vienna, Virginia, since 2012. An educator, small business owner, and nonprofit leader, Seibold won a special election on January 10, 2023, to succeed Mark Keam, defeating Republican Monique Baroudi, and was sworn in on January 11, 2023. Notable achievements include founding the nonprofit BRAWS in 2015, which provides free menstrual supplies and undergarments to women and girls in Virginia schools, shelters, and prisons ; launching a STEM consulting firm in 2010; and receiving awards such as the 2017 Emerging Influential Leader of the Year , 2017 Rising Star Heroine , 2020 DAR Community Service Award, 2020 Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations Citizen of the Year, and 2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit of King Award. She serves on committees including Communications, Technology and Innovation; General Laws; and Public Safety, where she has championed gun violence prevention measures like a safe storage tax credit and opposition to rollbacks on gun safety laws.
Education and Political Experience
Education: B.A. in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government from American University ; M.Ed. from George Washington University. While at American University, she worked on Capitol Hill, the State Department, and the American Embassy in London.
Political Experience: Began career in nonprofits and public school teaching before transitioning to business ownership. Elected to Virginia House of Delegates in 2023 special election , reelected to District 12 in 2024; Democratic Caucus Secretary . Active community volunteer with roles in PTA/PTSA, sports leagues, Northern Virginia Community College Advisory Board, Vienna Business Association, Fairfax County Community Action Board, and Virginia Council on Women.
