Holly Cheeseman is a Republican who served as Connecticut State Representative for the 37th Assembly District, encompassing East Lyme, Salem, and a portion of Montville, from 2016 to 2024. A New London native and long-time East Lyme resident for over two decades, she currently works as Interim Commissioner of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and previously served as Executive Director of the Southeastern Connecticut Children’s Museum from 2015 to 2023. Notable achievements include eight years on the Energy and Technology Committee, serving as Ranking Member of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee, and community roles such as East Lyme Board of Selectmen , Vice Chair and past Chair of the East Lyme Republican Town Committee, and board member of seCTer economic development organization.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in German from Mount Holyoke College; Master's in Chemical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology ; MBA from Massey University .
• Professional Experience: Publishing executive in the UK launching computer industry magazines; partnered in LVA Corporate Communications ; various roles in biotech and consulting including at Pfizer, Life Technologies, Gryphon Biologic, and KaVo Kerr.
• Political Experience: Elected to Connecticut House in 2016, re-elected in 2018, 2020, and 2022; served on Energy & Technology, Commerce, and Finance, Revenue & Bonding committees; advocated on issues like domestic violence; now Interim PURA Commissioner.
