Hillary Scholten (MI-0003)

Hillary Jeanne Scholten is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Michigan's 3rd Congressional District, which includes Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Grand Haven, suburbs, farmland, and Lake Michigan shoreline. Born February 22, 1982, in West Michigan to a fourth-generation family with Dutch immigrant roots, she is a Christian, married to Jesse, and mother to sons James and Wesley. She is the first woman, first mother, and first Democrat since 1993 to represent the district, sworn in on January 7, 2023, after winning in 2022 . Notable achievements include her work on immigration policy, civil rights, housing advocacy for vulnerable groups like LGBTQ+ individuals, and commitments to addressing Michigan's water crises and clean energy.
