Heidi Kasama is a Republican Assembly Member representing District 2 in the Nevada State Assembly, covering a portion of west Las Vegas in the Summerlin area. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Norwegian immigrants, she moved to Las Vegas in 2002 with her husband Peter, to whom she has been married since 1991; they have four daughters: Serena, Karina, Leona, and Nicole. A businesswoman and former Certified Public Accountant , Kasama opened her own real estate brokerage in 2004, which grew significantly before merging with Prudential , where she served as managing broker for an office of about 250 agents. She was elected in 2020, defeating a crowded Republican primary and Democrat Radhika Kunnel in the general , replacing termed-out Assemblyman John Hambrick; she served in the 2021 and 2023 sessions. Notable achievements include serving as 2018 President of Nevada REALTORS and receiving "Realtor of the Year" honors in 2018 from Nevada REALTORS and 2015 from Las Vegas REALTORS; she also led Las Vegas REALTORS in 2014 and directed the National Association of Realtors. In the Assembly, she sat on Commerce and Labor, Judiciary, and Revenue committees, sponsored election integrity and voter ID legislation, opposed tax increases and regulations on small businesses, supported law enforcement and Second Amendment rights, and resisted "defund" efforts and certain school policies. As of recent announcements, she is running for Clark County Commission District F, focusing on public safety, economic conditions, and transparency, after considering a congressional bid.
