Biography

Heather H. Rhyne is a Republican representative for North Carolina House District 97 . She serves as House Majority Freshman Leader in the 2025-2026 session and is a licensed retail pharmacist by occupation. Originally from Cherryville, NC, she has lived in Lincoln County for over 20 years, is married to Chris Rhyne for 27 years, and has two daughters. She was appointed to the NC House after serving on the local Board of Education.

Education and Political Experience

Education: Earned a pharmacy degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998.
Political Experience: Served 8 years on the Lincoln County Board of Education, including 3 years as Chairwoman, where she advocated for quality education, developed budgets, and built bipartisan leadership. Currently in her first term in the NC House of Representatives as a freshman leader.
