Biography

Heather Hadwick is a Republican Assemblymember representing California's 1st Assembly District, which covers rural Northern California counties including Alpine, Amador, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, and Siskiyou. A pumpkin farmer from Modoc County, she was elected in 2024, defeating fellow Republican Tenessa Audette with 59.8% of the vote, and is serving her first term. Notable achievements include securing over $100 million in state funding for district projects like wildfire recovery and rural infrastructure, $2 million for the California Wolf Livestock Compensation Program, a $58 million wildfire settlement tax exemption, and support for the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Program. She authored six bills signed into law in her first year. In March 2026, she was appointed Deputy Republican Leader. She serves on committees including Agriculture, Budget, Business and Professions, Insurance, and as Vice Chair of Emergency Management.

Married to Bryon since 2003, with two children.
