Biography

Hans Zeiger is a Republican who previously represented Washington's 25th Legislative District in the state House from 2011 to 2016 and the state Senate from 2017 to 2020. Currently, he serves as Pierce County Councilmember for District 2, advancing priorities like public safety, local jobs, and homelessness solutions. Notable achievements include securing funding for State Route 167 completion, chairing the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee , co-chairing a poverty reduction task force, and earning the 2015 Gabrielle Giffords Award for Civility in State Governance as a bipartisan collaborator. He is President of the Jack Miller Center , author of Puyallup in World War II and co-editor of South Hill, Washington: A Community History , an officer/public affairs officer in the Washington Air National Guard, and involved in organizations like the Kiwanis Club of Puyallup , Washington State Historical Society , and others. An Eagle Scout, he is married to Erin with two daughters and comes from a family of Puyallup public school teachers.
