Biography
Hanadi Nadeem
Hanadi Nadeem is an American physician and politician who was born in 1972 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She was raised in Islamabad, Pakistan, in a family of physicians. As a child, she witnessed her mother's dedication to helping patients who could not afford healthcare, which inspired her passion for public service.
Nadeem initially moved to the United States for her husband's medical residency in Philadelphia. The couple subsequently relocated to Chicago and then to Las Vegas, where she has resided for over two decades. She is married to Nadeem Tariq.
Beyond her legislative work, Nadeem leads a healthcare business and is actively involved in community organizations. She is the founder of Save God's Special Children, a nonprofit devoted to providing education to children with intellectual disabilities, which serves more than seventy children annually. She previously served as president of APPNA Alliance , an advocacy and philanthropic organization focused on medical relief and support for women and children in Pakistan and the United States. Under her leadership, she expanded the organization through the creation of local chapters across the country and organized major fundraising events.
Nadeem is the first Muslim woman elected to Nevada's Legislature.
Education
Nadeem holds a Master's degree in English Literature and an Advanced Diploma in Linguistics.
Political Experience
Nadeem was elected to the Nevada State Assembly in November 2024, representing District 34, which encompasses Summerlin in Las Vegas. She is a member of the Democratic Party and won her election with 53 percent of the vote against Republican challenger Brandon Davis. She replaced Assemblymember Shannon Bilbray-Axelrod, who did not seek re-election.
In the Assembly, Nadeem serves on three committees: Health and Human Services, Judiciary, and Legislative Operations and Elections. Prior to her election, she served as a board member of the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, demonstrating her commitment to civil rights advocacy.
