Biography
Hadley Luddy is a Democratic representative for the 4th Barnstable District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving the Outer Cape towns including Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Orleans, Chatham, and Harwich. Elected unopposed on November 5, 2024, after the Democratic primary where she was the sole candidate, she was sworn in on January 1, 2025, becoming the third consecutive woman to hold the seat. A full-time Orleans resident since 1996, where she has lived, worked, and raised her family, Luddy, age 54 at election, grew up in Amherst facing financial challenges.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and a Master’s in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
- Political Experience: First elected in 2024 to the Massachusetts General Court; currently serves from Room 448 at the State House .
- Professional Background and Notable Achievements: Career in nonprofit and public service, including CEO of the Homeless Prevention Council since 2016; prior roles with Community Connections Inc. and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands; consulted on organizational strategy, fundraising, and board development for nonprofits; worked with the state’s Department of Children & Families to recruit foster and adoptive homes.
