Biography
Gregory S. Koenig is a Republican Assemblymember representing District 38 in the Nevada Assembly, which covers Churchill, Esmeralda, Lyon , Mineral, and Nye counties, including areas like Fallon, Fernley, Hawthorne, Yerington, and parts of Tonopah. Born in 1967 in Pasco, Washington, while his father served in Vietnam, he returned to Nevada at age five and is a fifth-generation Fallon resident whose family homesteaded from Canada. An optometrist with practices in Fallon, Fernley, and Yerington, he has been married to Terra for over 30 years, with three children—Kennedy, Baylee, and Davis—and five grandchildren. Elected in 2022 after defeating Republican Vida Keller in the primary and winning unopposed in the general election, he succeeded Republican Robin Titus. He served as Churchill County Commissioner before entering the Assembly and announced his re-election bid in 2025. Currently, he holds the position of Assistant Minority Floor Leader North. Notable achievements include 12 years on the Churchill County School Board , presidency of the Nevada Association of School Boards in the mid-2010s, and service on the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association board overseeing statewide high school athletics.
