Delegate Greg Wims represents District 39 in the Maryland House of Delegates, covering Germantown, Montgomery Village, Washington Grove, and parts of unincorporated Gaithersburg in Montgomery County. Born William Gregory Wims on September 2, 1949, in Bethesda, Maryland, he is a lifelong public servant with over 50 years of experience uplifting disadvantaged communities. Sworn in on May 2, 2023, after appointment by the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee, he is the first descendant of enslaved people elected to the House and was named deputy majority whip in January 2026. Notable achievements include serving as the first African American Governor for Rotary International District 7620, founding the Victims' Rights Foundation, and advocating for the Voting Rights Act to protect minority voters.
