Biography

Greg Rothman is a Republican state senator representing Pennsylvania's 34th Senate District, which includes Cumberland and Perry counties and northern Dauphin County. Born on December 10, 1966, he is a lifelong Central Pennsylvania resident, Marine Corps veteran, and father of five children. Elected to the Senate in November 2022 after serving seven years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives , Rothman previously led RSR REALTORS as president and CEO, growing it into one of Central Pennsylvania's largest real estate firms. Notable achievements include chairing the Senate Game and Fisheries Committee, serving on committees for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Banking and Insurance, Education, Finance, Rules and Executive Nominations, and Transportation, and being elected chair of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania. His military service during Operation Desert Storm and in the Marine Corps Reserve led to a presidential appointment to the National Veterans Business Development Corporation board.

Education and Political Experience

Rothman graduated from Cumberland Valley High School, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and holds a Master of Science in real estate from Johns Hopkins University. Politically, he was inspired by Ronald Reagan at age 13, worked on campaigns including Jack Kemp's 1988 presidential run and at the U.S. Senate, served as an intern at the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee, won election to the State GOP committee in 2012, acted as county chair for three terms, and secured seven contested elections over seven years before his Senate role. He also served as a trustee at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg, and co-founder of the Harrisburg Young Professionals.
