Representative Greg Martin

Greg Martin is a Republican member of the Tennessee State House of Representatives, representing District 26. This district encompasses Hixson, Stuart Heights, Rivermont, Big Ridge, Sale Creek, Shady Grove, Dallas, Possum Creek, Lupton City, Riverview, Bakewell, Lakesite, Middle Valley, Harrison, Soddy Daisy, North Shore, and Downtown Chattanooga.

Martin is the son of Dianne Killough Martin and the late John Martin, both of Hixson. He is married to Sheila, who teaches in Hamilton County Schools. He is actively involved in his community, serving as the Immediate Past President and current member of the Hixson Kiwanis Club and the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adult and Teen Challenge of the MidSouth. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Friends of Hixson and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce.

Education

Martin is a 1981 graduate of Hixson High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryan College and earned both Master's and Doctoral degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Political Experience

Prior to his election to the Tennessee House of Representatives, Martin served on the Hamilton County Commission representing District 3 from 2016 to 2022. He previously served on the Hamilton County School Board as the representative for District 3 from 2012 to 2016. He also served on the Long Beach, Mississippi School Board from 1993 to 1996. In the House, he serves on the Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee.
