Biography
Grant Green is a Republican state senator representing Oklahoma Senate District 28 since November 16, 2022. A rancher and former business owner from Wellston, he won the seat after defeating opponents in the 2022 Republican primary and general election to succeed retiring Senator Zack Taylor. He is married to Dana, with whom he has five children and grandchildren; he is a lifelong member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Notable achievements include securing $2 million in funding to expand rural water district coverage for areas affected by injection wells. He serves on the Senate Committee on Rules and the Senate Legislative Task Force on the Grand River Dam Authority, and advocates for small businesses, rural communities, Second Amendment rights, parental education choices, women's sports protections, and pro-life positions.
Education and Political Experience
- Graduate of Wellston High School; former college basketball player.
- Owned and grew Green's Propane, a family business started by his father, eightfold from 2004 until selling it in 2020; ranched and farmed with family roots in the district for six generations.
- First entered politics in 2022, campaigning on protecting rural Oklahoma, opposing regulations on small businesses, and promoting economic growth through rebates rather than incentives.
