Biography
Gerrid Kendrix
Gerrid Kendrix is a Republican member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives representing District 52, which encompasses Greer, Harmon, Jackson, and Kiowa counties. A third-generation resident of Altus, Oklahoma, Kendrix has been deeply involved in his community for decades. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Cynthia, whom he married in 1987. They have three grown children and six grandchildren, all residing in the Altus area.
Beyond his legislative role, Kendrix is an active member of his church, serving as a deacon and contributing to various ministries including finance committees, youth mentoring, and Bible study groups. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
Education
Kendrix graduated from Altus High School in 1985. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Cameron University in 1991.
Political Experience
Kendrix was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 11, 2021. He currently serves as Chair of the Administrative Rules Committee, which oversees the regulations written by state agencies to enforce legislation passed by the Legislature. He also holds the position of Assistant Minority Floor Leader.
In recognition of his professional and civic contributions, Kendrix received the State Chamber of Oklahoma's Rising Star Award in 2021. Governor Kevin Stitt and Speaker Charles McCall appointed him to the Governor's Council on Workforce and Economic Development. He was also appointed to the House Special Investigative Committee in 2022.
As a Certified Public Accountant, Kendrix has operated an independent accounting firm and brought over 30 years of business experience to his legislative work, focusing on budgeting, planning, and government efficiency.
