Geraldine F. Thompson was born on August 27, 1944, in Lakeland, Florida. She received her BA from Howard University in 1965, her MA from Columbia University in 1975, and her EdD from Nova Southeastern University in 1997. She was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2006, and served there from 2006-2012. In 2012, she was elected to the Florida Senate, where she served until 2016.read less
