Gentner Drummond

Gentner Frederick Drummond was born on October 1, 1963, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is a seventh-generation Oklahoman from the prominent Drummond family. Drummond is a Republican politician currently serving as the 20th Attorney General of Oklahoma, a position he has held since January 9, 2023. In addition to his political career, he is a businessman, rancher, and former U.S. Air Force officer.

Education

Drummond earned his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 1985, graduating as the university's top graduate. He later obtained his law degree from Georgetown University.

Political Experience

Drummond was elected as Oklahoma's 20th Attorney General in 2022, defeating incumbent John M. O'Connor in the Republican primary and Libertarian nominee Lynda Steele in the general election with 74% of the vote. Since taking office, his key initiatives have included:

• Assembling the office's first-ever Organized Crime Task Force to combat illegal marijuana operations, human trafficking, and opioid distribution
• Working with state lawmakers to craft legislation to address illegal immigration's connection to illegal marijuana cultivation
• Securing legislation strengthening prosecutions of rape, child pornography, and fentanyl distribution
• Opposing federal overreach and protecting state sovereignty
• Improving tribal relations and ensuring government transparency

2026 Gubernatorial Campaign

On January 13, 2025, Drummond announced he would not seek re-election as Attorney General and launched a campaign for Governor of Oklahoma.

Professional Background

Drummond has nearly 30 years of legal experience. He served as an assistant district attorney in Pawnee and Osage Counties and practiced law privately. In 1999, he founded Drummond Law, a Tulsa-based firm specializing in banking, business, and entertainment law. His business interests include ownership of Blue Sky Bank, Drummond Communications, and a large event venue. He also operates a ranch near Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

Drummond is married to Wendy and has a blended family of six children and seven grandchildren.
