Gary Stevens is a Republican member of the Alaska State Senate representing District C, a region encompassing numerous coastal communities including Kodiak, Homer, Seward, and Cordova. Born on August 21, 1941, in McMinnville, Oregon, Stevens has maintained residency in Alaska for over 55 years, primarily in Kodiak since 1970. He is married to Rita and has three adult children and two grandchildren.

He previously served as an Army Intelligence officer with the rank of 1st Lieutenant and received the Army Commendation Medal.
