Gary Scherer is a Republican who represented Ohio's 92nd House District in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2012 to 2020, due to term limits. A former accountant and businessman, he previously served as President of Circleville Oil Company and owned Buckeye Tax Professionals Ltd., which operated 75 Jackson Hewitt franchises . He is married to Debbie, with three children and six grandchildren, and is active in the community as a member of Community United Methodist Church, an Eagle Scout, lifetime NRA member, and past leader in organizations like the Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce, Circleville Rotary Club, and Berger Hospital Board. Notable achievements include being named Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Association of County Boards of Developmental Disabilities for sponsoring bipartisan House Bill 572, and serving as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee and Ways and Means Committee.
