Biography

Gary Mohr

Gary Mohr is a Republican politician who represents Iowa House District 93, serving the Bettendorf area in Scott County. Born on December 15, 1951, in Council Bluffs, he has been a longtime resident of Bettendorf. Mohr is married to Jane and has four sons and 13 grandchildren. Prior to his legislative career, he worked as a higher education administrator before retiring from that profession.

Education

Mohr holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences and economics from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He also earned a master's degree in higher education administration and adult education from Iowa State University.

Political Experience

Mohr was first elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2016 and is currently serving his fourth term. He holds the position of Chair of the Appropriations Committee and serves on several other committees, including Commerce, Public Safety, Federal and Other Funds, and the Legislative Council.

Beyond his legislative work, Mohr maintains active involvement in his community through various board memberships and organizations, including the Iowa Public Information Board, Riverboat Development Authority, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, Logan University Board of Trustees, and the UnityPoint Trinity Hospital Foundation Board.
