Gary Friedmann is a Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 14 . Elected in November 2024 with 67.8% of the vote, defeating Republican Sandra Gray, he serves his first term in the 132nd Legislature and is assigned to the Taxation Committee. Notable achievements include co-founding lobbying groups like Our Power , Maine Climate Action Now, and A Climate to Thrive, as well as serving as president of Maine Citizens for Clean Elections and treasurer for Friends of Baxter State Park. Through his nonprofit development work, he has supported hundreds of Maine organizations with strategic planning and leadership. Prior to the House, he served four terms on the Bar Harbor Town Council starting in 2015.
